THE REMOVAL KINGS® — TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions form the agreement between The Removal Kings® (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the customer (“you”, “your”) for all moving, storage, delivery, clearance, and associated services.
By booking our services, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
1. Definitions

“Services” – Any removal, delivery, transport, storage, clearance, disposal, or packing service we provide.

“Crew” – Staff and subcontractors working on behalf of The Removal Kings®.

“Goods” – Any items transported, handled, or stored.
2. Booking, Deposits & Cancellations
2.1 Deposits
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure any booking.
Cancellations within 7 days of the move result in full deposit loss.
Earlier cancellations may be rescheduled at our discretion.
2.2 Rescheduling
Rescheduling within 7 days is treated as a cancellation unless agreed otherwise.
3. Quotes, Pricing & Customer Information
3.1 Accuracy of Information
Quotes are based on customer-provided details. Additional charges apply if:

Extra items are present

Access differs
-
Additional staff or vans are required
-
Stairwork or difficult access was not disclosed
-
Loading/unloading distances are longer than stated
-
Items require dismantling not mentioned at booking
3.2 Revised Quotes
Quotes may be adjusted at any time if job scope or information changes.
3A. Pricing, Labour Requirements & Service Rates
1. Labour-Only Jobs
Charged hourly with a minimum of two crew members for safety and insurance. Additional time billed in full or half-hour increments.
2. Van & Driver (Driver Only) Service
The driver does not assist with lifting.
If lifting is requested, the service converts to a labour-included rate.
3. Standard Removal Service (2 or 3 Men + Van)
Includes crew, vehicle and equipment.
Additional charges apply for delays, extra time, poor preparation, long walks, bad access, extra vans or waiting.
4. Minimum Charges
All services have minimum charges as stated in the quote.
5. Delays
Any delay not caused by The Removal Kings® (keys, packing delays, customer issues) is chargeable at our hourly rate.
6. Transparency
Pricing will always be clearly communicated before the job begins.

4. Packing, Furniture Handling & Special Service Terms
4.1 Customer-Packed Items
We are not liable for damage to items packed by the customer.
4.2 Packing Service (When Provided)
We pack using industry-standard materials.
We cannot guarantee protection of items that are inherently fragile, poorly designed or weakened by age.
We do not pack:

Cash
-
Jewellery
-
Watches
-
Gold or precious metals
-
Sentimental or irreplaceable items
-
Personal documents
These must be packed and transported by the customer only.
4.3 High-Value & Personal Items (Customer Responsibility)
High-value items must remain in the customer’s possession at all times.
We accept no liability for loss or damage of such items under any circumstances.
4.4 Assembled & Flat-Pack Furniture
Flat-pack items are not designed to be moved once assembled.
Any damage to such furniture is entirely at the customer’s risk.
4.5 Appliances
All appliances must be disconnected, drained, defrosted and ready.
We do not disconnect or reconnect appliances.
4.6 Dangerous, Overweight or Unsafe Items
We may refuse to move items that are unsafe, excessively heavy, structurally unsound, or require specialist handling.

4B. Retail, IKEA & Marketplace Collections
We collect only what the retailer hands to us.
We are not responsible for:

Missing boxes
-
Incorrect items
-
Damaged packaging
-
Store picking errors
Any return trip requested due to missing items is chargeable at full rate.
4C. House Clearance & Disposal Terms
The customer must clearly identify ALL items intended for disposal.
We accept no liability for items disposed of due to unclear instructions.
Once removed from the property, all items become our legal property.
We may dispose of, recycle, resell, donate or gift them as we choose.
All disposals are handled legally and under SEPA regulation.
4D. Rubbish Removal & Waste Disposal Terms
Waste must be clearly separated and identified by the customer.
We accept no liability for items disposed of due to mixed or unclear waste.
Hazardous items must not be included.
If prohibited items are found, the customer is liable for all disposal and contamination costs.
4E. Waste Disposal Fees (Council & Private Sites)
Disposal is not free for businesses.
Council and trade waste fees apply and are passed directly to the customer.
Additional charges apply for overweight loads, extra volume or additional trips.
4F. Business Relocation & Commercial Move Terms
Businesses must ensure that all equipment is disconnected, shut down and backed up.
We accept no liability for:

Loss of revenue

Business interruption
-
Data loss
-
Downtime or delays
Customers must arrange building access, lift bookings, loading bay access and security permissions.
High-value commercial equipment must be declared in writing before the move.
We may refuse unsafe, confidential or specialist items.
5. Television Policy

Only fully insured if transported in original box.

If wrapped by us, only insured to second-hand replacement value.

Must be shown working at collection and delivery.

No proof = not insured.
6. Condition, Valuation & Limitations

Items are considered used unless in sealed original packaging with receipt.

No new-for-old replacement.

Liability capped at £10,000 per move.
7. Property Protection, Footwear & Cleanliness
We use floor runners where reasonable.
Crew must wear steel toe-capped footwear at all times.
We are not liable for minor cosmetic marks or dirt caused during normal operations.
8. Access, Parking & Proximity
The customer must arrange parking as close as possible, including permits or dispensations.
If parking is unavailable due to customer arrangements, additional charges apply for carrying distance or delays.
Any parking fines caused by inadequate arrangements are charged to the customer.
9. Key Wait Time
If keys are not available on arrival, waiting time is charged at £50 per hour. the charge applies to any other delays that prevent us from conducting the job.

Cash, jewellery or irreplaceable items
11. SEPA Registration & Waste Compliance
The Removal Kings® are fully registered with SEPA as an authorised waste carrier.
We comply with all SEPA regulations in handling and disposing of waste.
We may refuse items requiring specialist disposal.
12. Storage Terms
12.1 Payment Obligations
Storage fees must be paid monthly.
12.2 2 Months Overdue
Customer must pay:

All arrears
-
Two months in advance
before access or continued storage.
12.3 3 Months Overdue (Abandonment)
All items are deemed abandoned.
We assume full legal ownership and may dispose of, sell or recycle items.
Customer remains liable for disposal, handling and administrative fees.
Storage is non-accessible; only The Removal Kings® handle loading/unloading.
13. Delays Beyond Our Control
We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, accidents, road closures, police incidents or events outside our control.
14. Health, Safety & Behaviour
Abusive or threatening behaviour will result in immediate cessation of work, with full payment still due.
We may refuse work if conditions are unsafe.
15. Complaints
Complaints must be submitted within 48 hours of job completion to:

16. Payment Terms
We accept:

Bank transfer
Payment must be made before the team leaves the final property.
We do not accept card payments.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Scottish law.
